Spicy Korean BBQ Pork Bulgogi

Posted in : Eating Out on by : Chris

We have this small chain of places here called the SGD Tofu House – one just opened up close to and and we went the other night – ordered two awesome meals that there mostly paleo (although when you look up the recipes seems like there’s a lot of sugar and fruit juice – I’m sure that cutting down on those will help) but man it was good! Instead of rice, we had it with all of those Korean sides dishes, skipping the noodles but adding Kimchi etc. SGD served the whole thing on a bed of fried onions, garnished with green onions and mushrooms. Damn tasty.

PORK BULGOGI

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:
1/4 cup crushed garlic
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 cup light brown sugar
4 teaspoons chili powder or red chili paste
1/4 cup pear or pineapple juice
1/4 cup sesame oil
2 green onions, diced (green and white parts)
2 pounds boneless pork, sliced thinly

Directions:
1. Whisk garlic, brown sugar, chili powder, pear juice, sesame oil and green onions in a bowl. Add pork and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

2. When ready to cook, heat a skillet over medium heat and cook pork until fully cooked through.
